Gemma grew up being unable to feel emotions until recently, which is really throwing her off balance. When she is around Alex, the new boy at school, she feels electricity racing through her veins, but he seems to hate her. Now monsters that she's only dreamed about are showing up in real life and secrets are everywhere. Can she figure out what is going on in time to save her life?
This is the first book in a four book series. I just love the cover too. Its so simple, but it draws the eye. (Pun not intended!) Check this one out!
Witch Jolie Wilkins is working as a psychic in LA when she is approached by Rand, a warlock on a mission. He hires her to help him solve the death of a client, but she accidentally brings that client back to life. News of her power travels through the Underworld and puts her life in danger as she lands smack in the middle of a fight between Rand, a vampire and a witch... and the winner gets Jolie.
There are currently six books in the Jolie Wilkins series. I love the banter between Jolie and Rand and that Jolie isn't just a prize to be won. She's a strong witch on her own, even if she's just learning how strong she can be.
After zombies take over, Remy and her 8 year old brother Max were brought to a government run quarantine. Max gets sick and is cared for by the government scientists while Remy is trained by one of the soldiers on how to take care of herself. When zombies overtake the quarantine, Remy manages to escape but finds out that her brother Max was evacuated to another quarantine. Determined to find her brother, she and Harlow, a thirteen year old who also managed escape, take off onto the zombie infested wasteland.
Amanda Hocking's books were the first ones I read when I got my Nook so many years ago. This is only the second zombie series I've read, and while only the first two books are out right now, I loved it!
There is nothing that Aurora Sky wants more than to get out of Alaska and she is counting the days until she graduates and can head off for college. Then she is in a a near-fatal car accident and her life is changed forever. Due to a rare blood type that can send any vampire into temporary paralysis, government agents save her life in exchange for her services as a vampire hunter. But she has to remain in Alaska. Back at school with her new secret, her only friends are vampire groupies and she thinks the one boy she has a crush on could be a vampire himself.
There are currently two full length novels, two novellas and a third book out in June 2014. This was such an interesting concept, I just love it!
I can't even describe it, so here it is straight from Amazon:
In a world nearly identical to ours, the North won the Civil War, Ben Affleck is the sexiest man alive, and Russia never sold Alaska to the U.S. Instead, Alaska is a rough, beautiful country ruled by a famously eccentric royal family, and urgently in need of a bride for the Crown Prince. But they have no idea what they're in for when they offer the job to a feisty commoner...a girl who's going to need...The Royal Treatment.
I laughed out loud so often when reading this book, and the two that follow! I love MaryJanice Davidson's Undead series, that has the same kind of humor as this one, so if you like silly, quirky characters, that sometimes make you shake your head, check this out!
