I started out my writing journey simply with the idea that I wanted to put my book out there and hopefully some people (beyond my friends and family) would find it and enjoy it. I never expected the response I've gotten from you readers and I am extremely grateful for every single one of you. So thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of you that read, reviewed, shared, tweeted and/or talked about Broken Skies. Without your support I never would have made it this far.
An extra special shout out to the bloggers that helped spread the word: Becca, Ren, Paula, Shannon and Kelly, Brianna, Mikky, Barbara, Michelle... Goodness, there are so many of you wonderful people! I know I'm leaving people out (sorry!), but just know that you bloggers have been essential to me in helping to get Broken Skies out there.
A special thanks also goes out to my husband, the Rebel Writers, S3G, Elle Casey, Rachel Higginson, and everyone else that listened to me hyperventilate when I first got the offer.
There are so many other people who have helped me along the way and I truly appreciate all of you. I just don't have enough space to *name* all of you and even if I did, I'd be sure to forget someone important so just...thank you, all of you.
Now that the sappy part is over, let me explain what this means for Broken Skies...
- First of all, the sequel will not be out in September. I know, I know please don't throw things at me. The draft is mostly complete and I'm working to get the best book possible to you as quickly as I can.
- I'll eventually be unpublishing the indie versions of Broken Skies and Skyscape will be doing some minor edits and formatting before re-releasing it, hopefully sometime in the Fall. So, if you really want the indie published paperback and/or you're heading to Penned Con in September and were hoping to find me wandering around and get your copy signed (I don't have a table, but I'll be there), now would be the time to order.
- As of right now, Skyscape is hoping to keep the cover the same or mostly the same, something I'm also really excited about. So many of you have commented on how much you liked it and I think Nicole, my cover designer, did an amazing job with it.
- The Broken Skies audiobook is still moving forward and will hopefully be available in the next couple weeks.
(Just FYI-This does *not* affect the publishing schedule for the Bright Beyond novella serial and you will still get a new episode of that in late July/early August. And there are other fun projects in the works too... like maybe an NA Paranormal Romance co-written with a certain Rebel romance writer)
